Product Description
NewBar™ weighting agent increases the density of any system, regardless of base fluid. This precisely ground barite is a chemically inert powder that meets or exceeds the American Petroleum Institute Drilling Fluids Specification 13A for 4.2 barite.
Benefits
The high specific gravity of the NewBar weighting agent provides the necessary hydrostatic pressure to balance formation pressures while minimizing the input of lowgravity solids into the fluid system.
Application
NewBar weighting agent is used to:
- Increase the density of drilling fluids up to approximately 22 lb/gal (2.6 kg/L)
- Control underground kicks and lost circulation with barite plugs
Treatment Recommendation
NewBar weighting agent is mixed directly into the drilling fluid system through the hopper or through the bulk tank hoppers.
