Product Description
FlexThin™ HTZ fluid thinner is a synthetic polymer complexed with zirconium, resulting in a highly anionic polyelectrolyte.
Benefits
FlexThin HTZ fluid thinner is non-toxic and environmentally safe. Though the product works as a thinner, unlike lignosulfonates, it does not instigate dispersion, therefore the additive delivers higher comparative penetration rates with lower drilling costs.
Application
FlexThin HTZ fluid thinner can be used in freshwater, seawater, low-solids or polymer drilling fluids, including those high in calcium or monovalent cations. It is equally effective in both weighted and unweighted systems, and is ideal when bottomhole temperatures exceed 400°F (204°C) or when environmental concerns preclude the use of NewFlow™ chrome lignosulfonate.
Treatment Recommendation
FlexThin HTZ fluid thinner is effective at low treatment levels of approximately 0.5-10 lb/bbl (0.05-1.00 gal/bbl). Treatment levels can vary depending on the type of drilling fluid, its density and the operating temperature. Initial treatments are best determined by pilot testing.
