Product Description

EvoLube® S lubricant/penetration rate enhancer is used in water-based drilling fluids.

Benefits Benefits

EvoLube S performance enhancer reduces coefficient of friction values, helping lower drilling costs by increasing ROP in high-angle wellbores. Even though the oil-soluble coating that the product deposits keeps hydrated clays or gumbo from sticking to metal surfaces, it does not cause oil-wetting of solids. Laboratory analysis also indicates that it enhances osmotic membrane development adjacent to loosely compacted shales. As an emulsified liquid phase, EvoLube S contributes to filtration control.

Application Application

EvoLube S performance enhancer can be used in any water-based drilling fluid without the risks of particle agglomeration on the barite. It is particularly applicable while drilling soft or “sticky” shales with PDC bits. Moreover, it is applicable for any application where torque and drag are a problem, such as high-angle holes. EvoLube S enhancer does not lose effectiveness in high-salinity environments. The product is environmentally safe for offshore use and passes the LC50 toxicity test.

Treatment Recommendation Treatment Recommendation

Although the product can be added to water-based drilling fluids at concentrations of up to 10% by volume, the normal treatment range is 2-5% by volume. As with any chemical treatment, pilot testing is recommended.
