DrillEase™ 242 shale inhibitor and rheology modifier is a liquid polymer emulsion additive designed primarily to provide shale stability, lubricity and rheology in mining and coring operations.
Shale Inhibition: coats drill cuttings and allows for their removal by the solids control equipment before becoming dispersed in the active drilling fluid system
Viscosity: aids in hole cleaning
Flocculation: enhances the removal of drill solids
Lubricity: enhances performance and reduces torque and drag
DrillEase 242 shale inhibitor and rheology modifier can be used in freshwater, seawater and sodium or potassium chloride brines, and is very effective in sweeps to help enhance hole cleaning.
One quart or liter of the DrillEase 242 polymer should be pre-mixed in 300 gallons or 1 cubic meter of water. It can be added directly through the hopper, directly to the pit or down the drill rod during connections. For sweeps, the slurry should be poured down the drill rods, not the pipe. The container should be thoroughly agitated before product use.

Handling and Storage
DrillEase 242 liquid polymer is extremely slippery. Use caution around spills. Avoid product degradation and equipment corrosion by not using iron, copper or aluminum containers or equipment. Use appropriate hygiene, clothing and personal protective equipment suitable for work being done. Review the SDS thoroughly before using this product.
The DrillEase 242 shale inhibitor and rheology modifier is available in 5-gallon (19-liter) pails and 55-gallon (208-liter) drums.
