Product Description
CyberPlus™ emulsifier is an environmentally acceptable liquid blend of emulsifiers (polyamide and organic acid) and wetting agents used to provide a stable water-in-oil emulsion. It is designed for use in the CyberDrill® synthetic-based drilling fluid system as the secondary emulsifier when first preparing the fluid system and as the primary treating agent during drilling operations.
Benefits
- Provides a stable, yet cost-effective emulsion
- Allows adjustable concentrations to balance emulsion stability with increased ROP
- Maintains fluid properties under adverse conditions such as saltwater flows, high salt content, cement contamination and rapid barite additions
- Restores desirable properties to contaminated drilling fluids
Application
CyberPlus emulsifier is effective with NaCl, CaCl2 or NewPhase™ internal phases. The product enhances the rapid emulsification of water into the continuous synthetic phase and stabilizes the emulsion in the presence of extremely high salt content. It should be used in an alkaline environment. An excess of Ca(OH)2 (lime) should always be present in the fluid.
Treatment Recommendation
CyberPlus emulsifier is recommended as an additive in the initial formulation of the CyberDrill synthetic-based system. Maintain a concentration of 8-12 lb/bbl (1.07-1.6 gal/bbl). The need for additional treatments is indicated by the presence of water in the HPHT filtrate and/or low emulsion strength as measured with an electrical stability meter. The emulsifier can be added through the hopper or directly into the pits, providing agitation is sufficient.
