Historic Site Restoration
Construction activities at historic sites present unique challenges to all involved. DURA-BASE® Advanced-Composite Mats were utilized to build a heavy-duty lifting work pad for cranes in the restoration of the oldest Spanish fort in the United States. Planners and site teams alike depend on DURA-BASE® Advanced-Composite Mats in special situations where the load you are lifting is valuable and so is the ground you are walking on.
Disaster relief is a stressful task. Action plans, people and equipment are all pushed to the limits. Following Hurricane Katrina, DURA-BASE® Advanced-Composite Mats provided access to sensitive wetlands to allow heavy excavators to retrieve boats that were tossed from the Gulf during the storm. In addition, DURA-BASE® Advanced-Composite Mats have been utilized by an environmental contractor in New Orleans to remove massive mounds of debris after Katrina. Our mats enabled debris-filled trucks to follow a temporary haul route directly to the dump site and were also utilized as spur roads from the main highway and staging areas around the debris pit.
Maintenance and upgrades at nuclear facilities must be executed with the highest level of quality and safety. With DURA-BASE®, temporary access roads and work platforms can be deployed quickly to complete tasks in the required time frame under the pressures of these unique standards.
DURA-BASE® provides a dependable helicopter landing platform that can be constructed quickly and safely. Our mats have proven themselves in this application in both civilian and military arenas. Temporary landing pads for corporate VIP’s or long term installations for training helicopter fighter pilots, DURA-BASE® excels in this specialty role.
