OptiTrol™ HPHT filtration control agent is an organic polymer used in Newpark’s OptiDrill™ and OptiPhase™ diesel-or mineral oil-based drilling fluid systems.

OptiTrol fluid loss agent is particularly useful in OptiDrill or OptiPhase drilling fluid when bottomhole temperatures exceed 350°F (177°C). It is effective at temperatures up to 500°F (260°C) and can withstand high shear conditions without degrading.
A concentration of 2-5 lb/bbl is recommended for controlling HPHT fluid loss in oil-based systems at bottomhole temperatures exceeding 350°F (177°C). OptiTrol additive is recommended for use in any diesel- or mineral oil-based drilling fluid system. For other synthetic-based fluids, including Newpark’s CyberDrill® system, the CyberTrol™ HPHT fluid loss control additive is recommended. (Refer to the CyberTrol product data bulletin).

Handling and Storage
Minimize exposure to dust. Ground equipment properly to avoid static discharges. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from ignition sources. Use appropriate hygiene, clothing and personal protective equipment suitable for work being done. Review the SDS thoroughly before using this product.
