EvoTrol™ filtration control agent reduces fluid loss in waterbased drilling fluids. It provides gel strength for improved hole cleaning.
EvoTrol filtration control agent forms a strong, thin filter cake which protects the formation from filtrate invasion and reduces the potential for differential sticking. The product has minimal effect on viscosity, producing very little high shear viscosity but strong gels. It is resistant to degradation and does not require a biocide.
The highly efficient filtration control agent is effective in any water-based fluid, although its anionic character offers salt tolerance, making it ideal for use in polymeric brine fluids such as the Evolution® Brine system. Optimum performance is seen at temperatures below 250°F (121°C), but can be extended to 300°F (149°C) with the use of NewStabil™ fluid stabilizer or other temperature extenders.
EvoTrol filtration control agent is effective at low treatment levels. Treatment levels can vary from 0.5-5.0 lb/bbl. Initial treatments are best determined by pilot testing.
