DynaLose™ CM filtration control agent is a purified, carboxymethylated starch used in all types of water-based drilling fluids.
DynaLose CM filtration control agent greatly exceeds the temperature limitations normally associated with regular drilling starches. In addition, it is less susceptible to bacterial degradation. DynaLose CM starch is stable at bottomhole temperatures up to 300°F (149°C). The temperature limitation can be extended to 325°F (163°C) with NewStabil™ fluid stabilizer or other temperature extenders.
The DynaLose CM filtration control agent is used when conventional drilling starches begin to lose their effectiveness.
To prevent balling and fish eyes, mix the DynaLose CM powder slowly into the system through the hopper. Although DynaLose CM starch is less subject to bacterial degradation than other starches, some bacteria and fungi can grow causing degradation of the starch. When this occurs, a bactericide is required.
