Product Description
CyberTrol™ HPHT filtration control agent is an organic polymer used in Newpark’s CyberDrill® synthetic-based drilling fluid system.
Benefits
- Helpful at preventing barite sag by improving low shear rate viscosity
- Compatible with a wide range of synthetic-based oils
- Stable to 500°F (260°C)
Application
CyberTrol filtration control agent is used in HPHT or consistent rheology applications. When bottomhole temperatures range from 350-500°F (177-260°C), the polymer controls fluid loss while withstanding high shear conditions without degrading. When low concentrations of organophilic clay are used, as in consistent rheology cold water applications, the polymer controls fluid loss at high bottomhole temperatures while maintaining rheological properties in the cool riser environments.
Treatment Recommendation
Consistent Rheology: 1-2 lb/bbl is usually sufficient to provide fluid loss control in synthetic-based systems with reduced organophilic clay content.
HPHT: 2-5 lb/bbl is recommended for controlling HPHT fluid loss when bottomhole temperatures exceed 350°F (177°C). CyberTrol additive is recommended for use in any syntheticbased drilling fluid system. For diesel- or mineral oil-based fluids including Newpark’s OptiDrill™ or OptiPhase™ systems, the OptiTrol™ HPHT fluid loss control additive is recommended.
