CoaCT™ corrosion inhibitor is a cationic amine developed for use in Newpark’s proprietary ResurreCT™ coiled tubing system. The product contains an oxygen scavenger, which removes dissolved oxygen from the fluid, eliminating one of the major causes of downhole corrosion and reducing the conditions that promote thermal degradation of organic materials. CoaCT is suitable for use in freshwater and monovalent brines.
CoaCT helps shield metal surfaces from corrosive liquids and gases, while its scavenger removes dissolved oxygen, effectively minimizing the costs of corrosion-induced damage to downhole components.
CoaCT corrosion inhibitor protects tubular goods in any water-based drilling, completion or packer fluid.
Normal concentrations are 5-15 gal/100 bbl. Pilot testing is recommended for heavyweight fluids or those containing high concentrations of low-gravity solids.
