Newpark's U.S. service activity averages several hundred rigs, with supply managed through a mature network of dozens of distribution centers. The company is active in the offshore GOM market, including deepwater locations, and in most U.S. areas of drilling activity, including onshore Texas and Louisiana, the Mid-Continent, Rocky Mountains and in the many burgeoning unconventional shale plays of North America.

On August 19th, 2010, we unveiled Evolution®, our new high-performance water based drilling fluids, the most innovative new water-based technology to hit the industry in decades. Designed specifically for unconventional shale horizontal drilling, it promises to permanently displace environmentally archaic oil-based fluids from the landscape.
Leading the charge in drilling fluid innovation, Newpark Drilling Fluids has introduced an effective group of proprietary products and fluid systems incorporating novel new components designed to advance the science of drilling demanding wells under harsh conditions.
Our approach is twofold: Achieving new synergies of performance by combining existing technologies into a single package; and developing totally new approaches in fluid chemistry. As a result, Newpark has rolled out a growing number of new cost-effective products maximizing our customers’ drilling performance.

Central to this development is our respect for the environment, which is an ongoing driving force behind Newpark breakthroughs, such as DeepDrill® water based drilling fluids (as an alternative to invert emulsion systems), the versatile FlexDrill™ system (customizable to address a wide range of drilling environments) and CyberPhase™ (synthetic-based) and OptiPhase™ (oil-based) salt-free internal phase invert systems. Tech group members coordinate a wide range of project activities, focusing upon client objectives, with emphasis placed upon specialized engineering functions while interacting daily with operator staffs both at the well site and in the office.
Our technical and engineering staff ranks among the most experienced and thoroughly trained in the drilling fluids business. Their experience and dedication to customer service have provided a platform for growth based upon customer satisfaction. Of the company’s technical service representatives, 75% have over 15 years of experience; 20% have 3-8 years. Every day, these seasoned professionals first validate and then implement action plans to address the next challenge each project presents to our customers.
